US RADAR RELEASES WORLD'S FIRST DUAL-FREQUENCY CONCRETE SCANNER
Matawan, N.J., May 4, 2016 - US Radar Inc., the leading innovator of Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and subsurface imaging systems, announces the release of the Quantum Mini, the world's first dual-frequency concrete scanner. The Quantum Mini is a solution to the dilemma of choosing between two of the most popular frequencies for scanning concrete. The incorporation of two resolution perspectives offers superior accuracy in location of anomalies both within and beyond concrete structures. Further, it allows users to quickly and effectively scan concrete and any utilities up to 72 inches (180 cm) below surface, offering the greatest depth of any concrete scanner on the market.
The Quantum Mini features an easy-to-use, handheld, all-in-one design that allows users to scan floors, walls and ceilings all while viewing and interpreting data in real time. It uses laser-based alignment technology to line up with passing grids to create accurate scan data, and to inform precise mark-out of rebar, post-tension cables, voids, utility lines and other anomalies.
"US Radar is proud to raise the industry standard to provide the first concrete scanner of its kind that gives users the ability to run both or either frequencies at any time, as well as higher resolution scans at greater depths of measurement," said Ron Labarca, President of US Radar.
The Quantum Mini interface features a 10.1-inch (26 cm) LCD with 3D onboard processing, a selection of readymade and custom color palettes and includes horizontal slicing, all with the purpose of allowing more compelling data analysis. It can automatically generate reports and export data in various graphic and video file formats. The system also features 8-hour battery life with two hot-swappable batteries, allowing the system to run continuously without having to shut the unit down to recharge.
US RADAR INCORPORATES MILITARY GRADE, DAYLIGHT-READABLE TABLET INTO ITS Q5C PLUS
MATAWAN, N.J. - April 26, 2015 - US Radar Inc., the leading innovator in Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and subsurface imaging systems, unveils its Q5C Plus, raising the industry standard by offering a tablet interface that is glare-proof, daylight-readable, portable and with military grade durability. This means data can be read in the field more clearly and the results can be analyzed on-the-go. The Q5C’s new and improved system employs smart filtering of external noise to allow for better resolution scans at greater depths.
The Getac F110 tablet is produced according to IP65 and US military standards, meaning it can withstand the harshest environments. It features an 11.6 inch (29.5 cm) with high definition sunlight readable LED display with multi-touch technology, up to 11 hours of battery life, a 128GB Solid State hard drive and 4GB DDR3 memory with the ability to upgrade to 8GB.
“We at US Radar answered to a market-wide demand for a powerful tablet interface that delivers a clearer display of radar scans in harsh sunlight and holds up in the toughest of environmental conditions.” said Harold King, Senior Technical Advisor at US Radar.
The US Radar Q5C Plus also incorporates SmartStack™, a unique algorithm that takes advantage of spare processing power to improve image quality and increase depth of penetration, especially in soils that tend to dissipate electrical energy. StreetSmart™ onboard processing eliminates the need for post-processing of information so the operator can see and evaluate data in real time rather than go back to the office.
“US Radar combined our market-leading GPR technology with a more versatile, robust interface to offer a product that delivers crisp results infield without much need for further analysis,” King said.
Construction Equipment Top 100 Products of 2014 Winner
Quantum Imager™ Triple-Frequency Ground-Penetrating Radar Award Winner
On behalf of the entire team at US Radar Inc., it is with great pride that we announce that we have earned Construction Equipment magazine’s “Top 100 Products of 2014 Award” for our Quantum Imager™ triple-frequency ground-penetrating radar system. Our award, earned in the Ancillary Products category, was announced in the December 2014 issue of Construction Equipment as part of the magazine’s feature highlighting all 100 winners.
This award, which recognizes our commitment to innovation, comes on the heels of our successful launch of the Quantum Imager earlier this year. As the world’s first ground-penetrating radar system to use triple-frequency radar technology for locating and imaging objects at greater depths and with higher resolution than competitive single- or dual-frequency systems, the combined technologies of the Quantum Imager define a new state of the art in this product category.
For 30 years, Construction Equipment, one of North America’s leading construction trade publications, has published this distinguished award program highlighting manufacturers that are investing in research and development.
The editors at Construction Equipment considered several hundred product introductions in the process that led to the selection of the Quantum Imager. The editors made these selections independently, drawing upon their own experience with equipment technology and the equipment marketplace, as well as input from their readers.
It is an honor to receive this prestigious industry award and to know that users of all types of equipment recognize the excellence of our new technology. US Radar will continue to strive toward excellence in technological advancement, product support and application satisfaction.
US RADAR LAUNCHES AFFORDABLE, HIGH-PERFORMANCE GROUND-PENETRATING RADAR UNIT
MATAWAN, N.J. (Nov. 1, 2014) - US Radar Inc., a leading manufacturer of subsurface imaging systems, has just begun production of its Q5C, a ground-penetrating radar unit that delivers US Radar’s signature SmartGain™ digital clarity at a list price that’s just a little over half the cost of most competitive units. Unlike any other attempts at a budget GPR units, this unit has performance characteristics in line with high end GPR units. This translates to successfully finding more utilities than possible with other low cost units.
“The US Radar Q5C is going to give contractors and municipalities that never considered buying their own radar unit the chance to put ground-penetrating radar to work in their public works, environmental and utility locating efforts,” said Ron LaBarca, president, US Radar Inc.
The US Radar Q5C incorporates SmartStack™, a unique algorithm that takes advantage of spare processing power to improve image quality and increase depth of penetration, especially in soils that tend to dissipate electrical energy. StreetSmart™ onboard processing eliminates the need for post-processing of information so the operator can see and evaluate data in real time rather than go back to the office.
“The cost of entry for the Q5C is below the threshold where bids are usually required, yet this workhorse delivers the most powerful GPR on the market for locating utilities up to 15 feet deep,” LaBarca said.
Users can build on base unit
The basic Q5C operates at a frequency range of 300 to 1300 MHz. It comes standard with a 1.9 GHz multi-core Intel Atom processor and 10.4-inch daylight-readable LED color display. A single battery powers the unit. “Users can add capability both through hardware and software upgrades to build the base model into a top-shelf GPR unit,” LaBarca said. He noted that, like other US Radar GPR units, a two-year warranty on parts and labor is standard, along with complimentary telephone and email technical support.
Although the Q5C can be used for most GPR applications, LaBarca said he expects the primary applications will be utility locating, infrastructure and natural gas.
