April 26, 2015 - US Radar Inc., the leading innovator in Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and subsurface imaging systems, unveils its Q5C Plus, raising the industry standard by offering a tablet interface that is glare-proof, daylight-readable, portable and with military grade durability. This means data can be read in the field more clearly and the results can be analyzed on-the-go. The Q5C’s new and improved system employs smart filtering of external noise to allow for better resolution scans at greater depths.
The Getac F110 tablet is produced according to IP65 and US military standards, meaning it can withstand the harshest environments. It features an 11.6 inch (29.5 cm) with high definition sunlight readable LED display with multi-touch technology, up to 11 hours of battery life, a 128GB Solid State hard drive and 4GB DDR3 memory with the ability to upgrade to 8GB.

StreetSmart™ onboard processing eliminates the need for post-processing of information so the operator can see and evaluate data in real time rather than go back to the office.

Nov. 1, 2014 - US Radar Inc., a leading manufacturer of subsurface imaging systems, has just begun production of its Q5C, a ground-penetrating radar unit that delivers US Radar’s signature SmartGain™ digital clarity at a list price that’s just a little over half the cost of most competitive units. Unlike any other attempts at a budget GPR units, this unit has performance characteristics in line with high end GPR units. This translates to successfully finding more utilities than possible with other low cost units.
“The US Radar Q5C is going to give contractors and municipalities that never considered buying their own radar unit the chance to put ground-penetrating radar to work in their public works, environmental and utility locating efforts,” said Ron LaBarca, president, US Radar Inc.

Users can build on base unit
The basic Q5C operates at a frequency range of 300 to 1300 MHz. It comes standard with a 1.9 GHz multi-core Intel Atom processor and 10.4-inch daylight-readable LED color display. A single battery powers the unit. “Users can add capability both through hardware and software upgrades to build the base model into a top-shelf GPR unit,” LaBarca said. He noted that, like other US Radar GPR units, a two-year warranty on parts and labor is standard, along with complimentary telephone and email technical support.
Although the Q5C can be used for most GPR applications, LaBarca said he expects the primary applications will be utility locating, infrastructure and natural gas.
Quantum Imager Adds Depth, Resolution to Locating Technology
LAS VEGAS, March 6, 2014 – US Radar Inc., a leading manufacturer of subsurface imaging systems, has introduced the Quantum Imager™, the world’s first ground-penetrating radar system to use triple–frequency radar technology for locating and imaging objects at greater depths and with higher resolution than competitive single– or dual–frequency systems.
The Quantum Imager excels in a wide variety of applications, from bridge deck analysis to locating and imaging utilities at depths up to 30 feet – twice the depth limit of dual–frequency systems and three times that of single–frequency units. Patent-pending technology in the Quantum Imager applies ultra-wideband pulses that combine the advantages of pulse radar and stepped frequency radar. The system is especially effective in locating plastic utilities such as conduit, and rendering high-resolution imagery of those objects.
